Winston’s Chocolate Decadence Cake

This Valentine’s Day, if you cannot be at Bitter End, enjoy Executive Chef Baker Winston Butler’s Chocolate Decadence Cake with your beloved

Winston’s Chocolate Decadence Cake

Ingredients

5 ounces semi sweet chocolate

2 ounces bitter sweet chocolate

7 ounces unsalted butter, diced into small cubes

7 ounces granulated sugar

7 eggs

3 teaspoons Cointreau

Method:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

Melt chocolate in a double boiler

Add butter and blend until butter is completely incorporated with chocolate

Cream eggs and sugar (beat together until smooth)

Fold creamed sugar and egg mixture into melted chocolate and butter

Add Cointreau

Pour into a 9” baking pan lined with parchment

Bake in a water bath until cake is firm. Test with toothpick to ensure done

Remove from oven and allow to cool completely in a cool dry area

Winston’s favorite garnishes are strawberry coulis and espresso whipped cream with chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
