Bitter End Travel Planners
Sweet Home Chicago

Bitter End Travel Planners (L to R) Assel, Nicole, Brenda Lee.
After six years “on the road,” Bitter End’s Reservations and Information Office has come home to Chicago. Working in the same office alongside the Hokin family gives the travel planners direct access to Bitter End’s history and to the ongoing sales and marketing team work.
Of course, a visit to Bitter End was mandatory, and here they share their favorite experiences…
Robert Gorman, in his third year at Bitter End, is our Reservations Office Manager, and his favorite aspect of the experience is sense of being totally immersed:
“All the various shades of BLUE sea interrupted only by the clusters of islands that you see from the plane introduce you to the region. On the ferry, the scent of the ocean and the wind in your face dissolve any remaining traces of the real world.
From that point on, everything relates to sea and sand… the soothing panoramic views from your room… meals at the water’s edge, the trade winds rustling your napkin… spectacular sunsets from your own gently swaying hammock.”
Nicole Hatfield, Travel Planner
Nicole Hatfield, who just moved to Chicago from Maryland, enjoys the range of activities that you can choose from:
“My favorite things to do are take naps in the Beachfront Villa hammock, snorkel at Norman Island, and have drinks at the Willy T while on the Norman Island excursion; it all revolves around the beauty of Bitter End’s location and the BVI.”
Brenda Lee Intengan, Travel Planner
Brenda Lee Intengan, who is an experienced diver and eco-traveler, loves the quality and quantity of the environment: “The skies are clear at night and I saw so many shooting stars. The water is so clean and the fish are healthy -- you can see this when you snorkel and dive. It is rare to see nature that pure.”
Assel Moldakhmetova, Travel Planner
Assel Moldakhmetova, who has lived and traveled to many different places around the world, gave the spa a try, and recommends the Thai massage.
“The panoramic view from the North Sound Suite was awesome! You can take such nice pictures of the sunset and take in all the activity in the harbor. Don’t forget a companion to share all your experiences at Bitter End.”
She sums up her week at Bitter End with “I would highly recommend it for families with kids as well as for romantic couples. I could see how the atmosphere and accommodation arrangements work out for all parties.”
No matter your interest, our travel planners can guide your Bitter End trip planning, and can help with any questions or requests you might have.
