Devon Barker Awarded
Highest Service Honor
Chief Minister Honourable Dr. Orlando Smith said it best in his 3rd Annual State of the Territory Address on Wednesday, 21 June, 2006:
“[In 2005] we launched the Tourism Industry Service Standard programme that continues to provide professional training to hundreds of workers from our Customs Officials to our hotel and restaurant staff. As part of this programme, we have honoured a number of workers in the industry who have distinguished themselves by achieving excellence in service. Some of those award winners are here with us today, and I would like to recognise them…: Devon Barker from North Sound Express… Thanks to hardworking men and women like [Devon], our tourism industry can and will remain strong.”
You will usually run into Devon when you arrive and depart—he is the manager of the North Sound Express ferry service.
Congratulations Devon, and keep up the good work!
