Norbert Wheatley, Bitter End’s “Fleet” GO TO Man
Norbert Wheatley
At Bitter End, we are proud of the fact that we have a fleet of over 100 boats. Of course, with so many boats, you are bound to have the occasional problem. So we are proud and fortunate to have Captain Norbert Wheatley on our team. Captain Wheatley is the kind of guy who can handle pretty much any boat related problem. Whether it means diving down into the bilge to work on a diesel engine, or into the water to replace a propeller, Norbert gets it done.
Bolo, as he has been nicknamed, joined the Bitter End team in 1979 as a general waterfront staff member. Over the course of his 25 years here, he has steadily worked his way up the ladder and is now our Service Boat Manager as well as Operations Manager for the North Sound Express ferry service. When it comes to moving people and equipment in and out of Bitter End, Norbert is in charge. He keeps the ferries on time so that guests get to the resort and the airport on schedule and, while theyre here, he makes sure that all the boats are ready to go whenever and wherever the guests want to use them.
I dont know what Bitter End would do without Norbert. Says friend Gord-O Overing, Bitter Ends Guest Activities Director. He is simply one of the most reliable, helpful and friendly people I know. We are lucky to have him.
