Is A Rose

Is A Rose
We see a lot of megayachts at Bitter End but sailing megayachts over 150-feet dont come along every day. So when Is a Rose visited us recently, she caused quite a stir. At 164 feet, this steel and aluminum-hulled ketch-rigged Perini Navi is the fourth in a line of similar P/N 50M designs, and some of her sister ships have visited in years past. Is A Rose has a crew of eight and can accommodate up to 10 guests in five private cabins. When she opens her transom doors, she reveals her fold-out beach, complete with jetboat tenders, kayaks, and windsurfers.
Gallant Lady
Gallant Lady
We certainly do see a lot of megayachts at Bitter End. But never before have we seen such an impressive string of yachts, all bearing the same name, and all owned by the same individual. The most recent Gallant Lady is a 173-foot steel-hulled, CAT diesel-powered Feadship, built in Holland. Feadships are considered the Rolls Royces of megayachts. This is the second Feadship bearing the Gallant Lady namethere was a 130-footer as well. And these are in addition to a 160-foot Delta, and an 82-foot Hatteras. Did we also mention the 40-plus-foot sportfishing boat that accompanies the big boat virtually everywhere she goes? Were happy to say that the Gallant Lady owner is one of our original Quarterdeck Club members.
