As Good as it Gets…
and Then Better

HTeams led by our Pro Am “Junior” racing on North Sound.

Greetings from the Bitter End. As we go to press, the BVI Spring Regatta has just ended and Bitter End’s Cosmic Warlord won her class! Spring Regatta brought a great array of boats to Bitter End, making for a fantastic “floor show” out in the anchorage for all to enjoy. Pyewacket was here all week and came in second in her class in the Spring Regatta—check out the photo on page 9.

The buzz around the resort is electric—with the room renovations underway and the completion of the new public “head” (formerly, the Bathhouse)—I can’t tell you how many compliments I have fielded from both house and boat guests! We have begun our multimillion dollar renovation (see the article on page 12)! In addition, kiteboarding is here and it’s stirring up the Sound (see the adjoining article). Now we can boast that we provide all the toys and expertise necessary for playing under, on and above the water!

Rui Freitas, our Food and Beverage Manager, and his chefs have been varying the menu, offering new specialties at lunch and dinner and for the special events held here at the resort. Give the Felafel and Tahina sauce recipe on page 11 a try.

As we head into summer, we’ve got several special events lined up. In addition to the Swan and Oyster rendezvous this month, this summer we’re hosting the second annual Sea, Salsa and Sabor Celebration and the Sail Caribbean staff will be joining us for a week of family-oriented fun in August (see page 7 for these events), and for those of you interested in aerial acrobatics, you can learn to kiteboard at the end of July for a special rate (see page 9).

Looking toward the Fall Sailing Festival, check out the dates on page 3, visit the web site, and the next issue will have all the details. Gordo is gearing up to replace the entire Laser fleet in time for the Musto Scuttlebutt Sailing Club Championships during Pro Am Regatta Week, October 30—November 6, 2004. Also during the Fall Sailing Festival, take advantage of the opportunity to sail against twenty-plus other Hobie Wave sailors (October 23–30) aboard our regular fleet, refreshed with two new Hobie Waves, plus 12 more Hobie-supplied Waves.

To keep up with the Bitter End, subscribe to our enewsletter at www.beyc.com/newsletter.asp.

Hope to see you soon.
