Race Notice:
Midwinter Regatta
of Champions,
January 1017, 2004

Got what it takes? The Midwinter Regatta of Champions is just around the corner! Scheduled for January 10- 17, 2004, the Midwinter Regatta is a great time to get away from the northern cold and come do some competitive but fun racing at the Bitter End.
Traditionally, the Midwinter Regatta is held to give all of the past years Sunday Regatta winners a chance to compete against each other and determine who is the best. But dont worry; if you didnt make it to a Sunday race or came in second by just a little and you still want to come out, we have room for you. Last years champion and three-time winner Sally Sharp will return to defend her crown. We also expect to see 2002 winner David Hoffman as well as perennial contenders Gibby Rachleff and George Vurno.
This year the races will have a new twist with competitors sailing their first Regatta on the new Hunter 216s. In addition to racing aboard the Lasers and Hunter 216s, there will be plenty of time for snorkeling, beachcombing, diving, windsurfing and hiking, plus a lay day to see some sights around the BVI. Each days racing will be capped with the requisite cooler of refreshments at the Watersports Center; the awards ceremony will feature plenty of It aint over til the coolers empty tee-shirts and other great prizes. The winning skipper of the Midwinter Regatta earns a free week at BEYC to defend his or her title again the following year. Reserve your spot in the regatta by booking at 800-872-2392, or at www.beyc.com. Come join us!
