"Where Do We Start?"
by Mia Prieto, BEYC Travel Planner

No matter what I had learned from the printed material and talking with the many guests I had booked to visit Bitter End, nothing would have prepared me for the pleasant surprise I was in for! Before my trip, I was advised to experience the hotel as guests do. (I know, it’s a hard job, but somebody’s got to do it!) Oswald, my husband, and I are watersports enthusiasts, so of course he jumped at the opportunity to enjoy BEYC first hand!

I was beside myself with the breathtaking view of North Sound from the North Sound Suite. There was such an abundance of awesome sailboats that were moored and cruising around the Sound — I could have just sat for hours! And, later in the week when we switched over to the Beachfront Villas, I could see why they are so popular—the large wrap-around balcony and hammock are made to relax and vegetate — two things I do very well. There was an excellent view of the ocean right from the shower. You can always choose to close the slats, but who wouldn’t want that view?

Our first stop on our self-guided tour of the property was the Watersports Center. Wow! I felt like a big kid with all of these toys at my disposal! With so many boats to choose from, the question was, “where do we start?”

A few days into our stay, Oswald and I decided to have a little private fun, so we ordered a picnic lunch the night before and took out a Boston Whaler the following morning. We cruised around BEYC and got very adventurous: we decided to go to Prickly Pear Island, a beautiful nearby island with a nearly secluded beach. We had never experienced anything quite like it. The island’s beach was just the right spot to have a romantic picnic lunch.

We were sad to leave BEYC. I asked Mary Jo if she wanted to switch jobs with me. She looked at me, smiled, and said “NO WAY.” I guess I’ll just have to visit again—I’m looking forward to that already! For Mia’s complete report go to www.northsoundings.com.
