Just as yacht club members and flotilla groups from around the world who frequent Bitter End Yacht Club have been recognized as regulars for years with a place to hang their burgees, our house guests who have frequented Bitter End over the years shall be honored in the same fashion. Beginning November 1, 2002, repeat hotel guests will have their flags hoisted to the raftersliterallyin the Flag Deck of our Clubhouse Restaurant.
What better way to honor our repeat house guests, some who visit more than once a year, than to hoist a flag recognizing their visits? Henceforth, at the Repeat Guests Cocktail Party held each week, a First Repeater Flag from the International Code Flags series (yellow on blue background) will be labeled with the guests name. The repeater will then be hung in the Captains Table section of the restaurant. On each subsequent visit, a gold anchor will be affixed to the flag. When a guest has visited five times, a silver star is added. At 10 plus visits, a gold star is affixed.
We invite you to help us out: on your next visit, remind us of your past visits. If you have your own family burgee (roughly 8 by 15), wed love for you to bring it and we will gladly hang it alongside your repeater flag. We are looking forward to seeing the gold and silver stars adorning our Clubhouse very soon!
