Director of Special Events: John Glynn

Now in his 16th year with the Bitter End, John first came to Bitter End on assignment, writing a story for Sailing World Magazine on the joys of small boat sailing in the BVI, met the Hokin family, and never left. His years as a top racing sailor and sailing school director prepared him to speak directly to the wants and needs of vacationing sailors, as Bitter Ends expert in promotion, public relations and special event planning.
John worked closely with Myron Hokin to create the Pro Am Regatta, Bitter Ends signature sailing event and among the most popular events on the pro circuit, as well as among BEYC guests. His current responsibilities include coordinating the Fall Sailing Festival Season, which is kicked off with the Pro Am Regatta Race Week, editing the North Soundings, traveling to boat shows across the country, as well as organizing the perfect special event for all types of yacht club, social, and corporate outings.
If you would like further information about creating a group event, from a family reunion to a corporate retreat, feel free to contact John. Also, the North Soundings welcomes editorial and photographic submissions. If you have a Bitter End-related story to tell, feel free to e-mail John at jglynn@beyc.com.
