Welcome to North Soundings for Kids!

When we decided to introduce the North Soundings for Kids, Mike the Iguanas ears pricked up. At least we think they did - they are very hard to see. Mike is one of our year-round residents and ambassadors at the Bitter End Yacht Club. If there are going to be Hellos! and Welcomes! involved, Mike wants to be a part of it.
To stay in tip-top form for welcoming guests to Bitter End, Mike trains heavily. His exercise regimen includes two leisurely walks from the swimming pool to the dock, where he greets arriving guests with an easy smile and a slow wink of the eye. Then he gets a ride back to the pool on one of our golf carts. (Maraschino cherries are one of Mikes favorites, and he has found that he can get more at the pool bar than anywhere else.) Also, there are the countless hours he spends sunning on the rock near the Almond Walk. This, he has been heard to explain, helps his digestion and green complexion, which is very important for an iguana. To stay energized, Mike feasts on hibiscus and other green plants he finds around the resort - Mike is not really a meat eater, as some may assume.
Check out Mike and his good friend Bernice the Bananaquit on one of their many adventures together, Mike and Bernices Bitter end Excursion.
