Its been a good year for the Bitter End in the major travel and consumer media. And the praise has come from both readers and editors alike. First came word that the Bitter End had landed amongst Child Magazines top 10 beach resorts for families in the Caribbean & Florida (February 2001).
Later in the summer, the Bitter End was proud to again be named to Travel & Leisure Magazines prestigious Worlds Best List (August 2001). Readers of Travel & Leisure ranked the Bitter End eighth amongst all resorts in the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Bermuda, topping such perennial favorites as La Samanna, Peter Island, Palm Island, Curtain Bluff, and Cap Juluca.
Further in the same issue, Virgin Gorda, home to the Bitter End Yacht Club for the last 29 years, was named by Travel & Leisure readers as the top island in the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and Bermuda, besting popular haunts such as St. Barts, Barbados, and St. John. Editors and readers applauded our little piece of paradise, saying Virgin Gordas resorts serve some of the finest food in the Caribbean. Also, recalling kudos from Rodales Scuba Diving Magazine earlier in the year, T&L cited the exceptional local activities, exclaiming with its crystal clear waters and diverse undersea life, Virgin Gorda is ideal for divers.
Adding icing to the cake, the editors of Travel & Leisure recently saw fit to place the Bitter End amongst its 10 Best Family Values for Fall & Winter (T&L Family, Fall/Winter 2001). They cited the tremendous value of the Admirals Family Package, which saves a family of four over 25% off regular rates. They highlighted the vast inclusions for those staying five nights or longer: beachfront accommodations, three meals daily, unlimited use of Club fleet, childrens programs, Managers cocktail party, round-trip airport ferry transfer, snorkeling trips & excursions, Sunday Regatta and party, Sailing 101 course, and sunset cruises.
