Traditions Make You Feel At Home
The View From The Helm
by Sandra Grisham,
Managing Director

Few hotels or resorts foster the type of homey feeling so commonly found at Bitter End. We began as a family retreat in the early 70s, and today we strive to provide an experience that offers relaxation, rejuvenation, and most of all “fun.” But regular visitors will know that we also strive to provide a “familiar” experience for our ever-expanding repeat clientele.
A Perfect Day, a Picnic Lunch, All in The North Sound

The Bitter End is considered to be one of the greatest sailing destinations in the world, but the fact is, our fleet of 11' Boston Whalers rank number 1 in guest usage and satisfaction.
Mary Jo's "Most Romantic Couple"

The wedding day was set for September 15th. The honeymoon was due to start on September 16th. Early in the week, with Cathy already in Ohio preparing, and Greg in New York on business, disaster struck. Greg escaped a tragedy-filled city, but, with airlines grounded, had to search for a way to get to his own wedding. Greg hitched a ride with some relatives who had decided to drive to Ohio, and made it in time for somewhat subdued and scaled-down festivities.
Sarah's "Most Romantic Couple"

According to Tracy, “we loved everything about Bitter End! It was exactly what we had in mind for our wedding — quiet and private, yet fun and exciting— any water sport you can imagine — RIGHT THERE anytime! I love to cook, and the food there was outstanding! Our compliments to the chef(s). We can’t say enough about the staff. Everyone was so helpful and down-to-earth.
Pro Am Flash

Team Leweck/Baird (right in white) win the 2001 Dry Creek Vineyard Pro Am Regatta at the Bitter End Yacht Club. Top match racer and world champion sailor Ed Baird teamed with Master Tom “the curmudgeon of Scuttlebutt” Leweck to take the top team trophy.
