Get to Know:
Captain Isaac

Captain Isaac making his daily rounds.

Captain Isaac, aboard his trademark green Sisu launch, has been the Harbormaster at Bitter End for over 13 years. He is known by many returning yachtsmen for his stoic, yet easy going manner and friendly smile.

Over the years he has regularly been noted as the best-dressed harbor master in the BVI with his crisply pressed shirt and black pants. Captain Isaac loves cricket, so if you want the latest scores or just have a chat about any of the teams, he would be glad to fill you in.

He starts his rounds collecting mooring fees in the late afternoon and can give you any information about what’s going at Bitter End that night. We suggest hailing Captain Isaac on channel 16 “ Bitter End launch,” for a ride to shore for your evening dinner or drinks and shopping. Leave the driving to Isaac; it’s a free ride.

Keeping track of a 70-mooring anchorage is no small feat, and on busy nights, it’s downright confusing. Bear in mind that just about every charterboat in the BVI is white, and all are about the same size, with very few distinguishing characteristics. It’s not unusual for an overserved charter visitor to turn up on the front dock after the evening’s entertainment ceases, wanting a ride to that “white Beneteau just over there.” But like a mailman, Isaac always delivers his charges to their proper destination, come rain, shine, or too many Bushwackers.
